About Me
My name is Nithya Ketavarapu, and I've known that I wanted to be an engineer for pretty much my entire life, even if I didn't always know the exact term for my future job. I am 18 years old and a senior at Liberty High School. Along with all the AP classes I'm currently taking at school, I'm also involved in numerous extracurricular activities, such as National Honor Society, Junior Frisco Women's League, and Key Club. Many of these activities are service-based, because I truly enjoy giving back to my community and making a positive difference in the lives of others. Outside of academics and the organizations that I'm a member of, I also enjoy reading books for pleasure, spending time with friends and family, and watching Survivor and Criminal Minds. Through the ISM program, I want to dig deeper within the field of biomedical engineering, experience the daily life of a biomedical engineer, and, most importantly, discover whether I'm really passionate about this career. I hope to make the most of this opportunity, and my determination to succeed will definitely benefit me over the course of this journey!
My mission statement for the following year is as follows:
Through the ISM program, I hope to gain confidence within a professional setting, become more self-aware, learn how to better "market" myself, and build a strong network of contacts in the field of biomedical engineering by fully utilizing the opportunities presented and stepping outside of my comfort zone, so that I truly can make the difference I hope to accomplish someday.
