David Wilson
David completed his undergraduate degree with a BS in Kinesiology and Health Sciences at The College of William and Mary, before obtaining his Masters in Prosthetics and Orthotics from UT Southwestern. He currently is a faculty member in the UT Southwestern Prosthetics-Orthotics Program. During the day he primarily sees orthotic and prosthetic patients in the outpatient clinic, but also assists with inpatient care and in the classroom. In the clinic he will see patients for evaluation, fitting, delivery, and follow up. During the evaluation appointment he assesses the patient's needs and discusses the available options. An impression and measurements are taken in order to fabricate the appropriate prosthesis or orthosis. The patient returns for fitting and delivery appointments where the prosthesis or orthosis is fit to the patient and adjusted accordingly. Follow up care continues weeks, months, and years after using the prosthesis or orthosis to ensure it continues to meet the patient's needs. His clinical interests include lower extremity orthotic management of neurological disorders, and high activity and performance prosthetic management.
